I’m having my first tangible weight loss success and it feels great! Several years ago (like at least five), I picked up the cutest robe at Target. It’s from their Nick and Nora PJ line. It’s reversible. Sky blue fleece on one side and flannel on the other with the same color background splattered with white polka dots and big, ice skating pink elephants. It even has a hood.
Oh, how I love that robe.
Even though it’s not really practical. Florida rarely gets cold enough for flannel and fleece and why does a robe need a hood?
And then there’s the main reason buying was impractical. It didn’t fit.
Even though it was a 2x/3x, it didn’t close.
It’s been sitting at the bottom of a drawer for years. I’ve started to get rid of it several times, but just can’t.
We’re finally some cold weather in Florida. 30s and 40s. My daughter was chilly after her shower, so I puled out the robe to wrap her all snugly. After she discarded it, I put it on me on a whim.
I was able to close it!
Those cute little pink elephants wrapped all around me without a gap! I belted that bad boy up and slapped the hood over my head – just because I could!
What a triumphant!
And I need a win – especially one that raises my confidence and wraps me in comfort. It’s been a yucky weekend. I’m still dealing with the food allergy and ended up going to the urgent care when I woke up with an eye almost swollen shut yesterday morning. I’m not on lots of steroids and have strict instructions to cut out tons of foods (including everything in my green smoothies) until I’m able to get allergy testing to figure out exactly what is causing the reaction. I know it started with cashew, but why it’s continuing (and worsening) two weeks after I ate those darn nuts is the mystery.
It’s chilly here today. I have a husband sick with a cold and a kid who is exhausted after several late nights. I’m going to wear my comfy robe and relax with a book today.
I’m excited to see what my next weight loss success will be! (I’m about 10 pounds down so far.)
Do you hang on to clothes that don’t fit? I have quite a few pieces I just haven’t been able to part with.
