Frozen hot chocolate. The concept makes me laugh. Frozen and hot in one description? Okay….
Serendipity 3 is famous for their frozen hot chocolate. This hot spot was on my wish list of places to visit while my daughter and I were in New York City, however the line was crazy long so we skipped it. When we returned home to Florida, I came across a recipe for a frozen hot chocolate inspired by this restaurant and used it as inspiration to make our own.
It’s easy peasy to whip up a delicious, frosty faux frozen hot chocolate. Here’s how.
Frozen Hot Chocolate
Makes two large servings.
Throw about 3 cups of ice in the blender. Add three packets of your favorite hot chocolate mix – with or without the tiny marshmallows! Pour in two cups of milk. Blend it all up and pour into classes.
To make it look fancy, top it with a bit of half and half made frothy with a hand mixer and a dusting of cocoa powder. Or a squirt of whipped cream from a can.
Slurp them up with straws while making happy sighs.
A decadent desert that takes a while to enjoy (if you don’t want brain freeze!). This frozen hot chocolate is easily adjustable – use sugar free hot cocoa packets if you want, change up the milk (whole, fat free, soy, etc.). Make it your way!
